Ghanaian Hi-life Singer and Songwriter, Gregory Promise Bortey Newman who goes by the stage name as King Promise in an interview on the delay show denied thoughts of joining Fuse ODG’s camp.
“I started working with Kill beat before I met Fuse, it was through him I met Fuse.” He said when he was asked he would not sign onto Fuse ODG’ label since he is international art and has more links in that regard.
Describing Kill Beat as the strong hold to the success of so many big artists in Ghana and some other international art like R2bees, Fuse (himself) Wizkid respectively. Promise further explained “Kill Beat have been in the industry for a long time over 10 years now so I think working with him now is the best. It is him who has made bangers for these guys plus ‘am learning so much under these guys and happy to be with them”
The ‘Selfish’ hit maker however denied having anything to do with the rift between Fuse and Kill Beat. He said “I know that there is something between them but I don’t know who my name came into it. I really don’t have anything to do with it.”
King Promise shot to fame in 2016 when he released his single ‘Thank God’ where he featured Fuse ODG. Signed to Legacy Life Entertainment, King Promise has hit tunes like ‘oh yeah’, ‘Double trouble’ and ‘Selfish’ to his credit.
