Happy Fm’s Dj Advicer has disclosed that he had to sleep in cemeteries at some point in his life on his career journey as a DJ.
During an interview on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show, he revealed that he has been a DJ for over fifteen years. He also said that he started his DJ career at the Vanity nightclub in 2002, prior to that he played in small ‘corners’ he could find work as a DJ and did some disk jockeying for X205 Soundz as well.
According to DJ Advicer he has travelled the length and breadth of the country playing at almost every festival in Ghana. He made some more revelations
“I have slept in bushes and in cemeteries. “When we played in remote villages and don’t have anywhere to sleep after the shows, we would lie down anywhere and we will realize in the mornings that we slept in a cemetery. I slept in cemeteries on three different occasions. Once in Mankessim and twice in the Volta region.”
He also recounted how Fiifi Pratt influenced his interest and love for radio and disk jockey.
He advised the youth who aspire to be DJs to follow their passion and never allow anybody push them into forgoing their dreams.
He said becoming a DJ has always been a passion and nobody taught him how to DJ, but he told himself he could do it and he did. Having had a strict disciplinarian who wouldn’t hear of him becoming a DJ for a father, he had to fight for his dreams and never gave up.
DJ Advicer since 2016 has won the best music promoter award at the annual Ghana DJ awards for three consecutive times.
