The Phase Two project of the University of Ghana Hospital will soon commence as it has been approved by Parliament for the project to continue and complete within 18months.
The project which has been approved by the Parliament is believed to amount to USD 50 Million and the bulk of the project will commence soon as elaborated by Perry Okudzato the Deputy Minister of Information.
Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ , Mr. Okudzato indicated that “the contractor said “this project has been done several times…as it takes a year or two and a half to operationalize facilities like this.”
However, the hospital will be recognized as a Quaternary Hospital responsible for accepting Patients with referrals and with critical conditions. Also, it will be classified as the highest hospital where specialized Doctors will be allowed to fully operationalize to enable the efficiency of work.
Perry, also said benefits could be derived from the hospital, leading to Medical Tourist which involves students from abroad coming to study and work in the hospital and also students who try to pursue Doctors Program abroad can take the chance to learn in the UG hospital and be specialists as well.
