Former captain and shot-stopper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Isaac Amoako has confirmed that a petition has been sent to Manhyia for claims due to all those that were involved in an accident a year ago
In July last year, the Kumasi based club was involved in a fatal accident after honoring a league match against Inter Allies in Accra. On their way back to Kumasi after losing by a lone goal to their hosts, Kotoko was involved in the accident which resulted in the death of the Deputy Equipment Officer Kofi Asare.
Reports have it that none of the accident victims has been compensated.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports, the shot-stopper said “It’s a year since we encountered that unfortunate accident and we have still haven’t heard from the management of Kotoko”
“We have written to Manhyia and they have acknowledged receipt of our petition. They promised to meet us at the appropriate time. We wrote to Manhyia because we know that they will take us serious unlike the club’s secretariat”
“I am not voicing out because I am no more with Kotoko. I have been chosen by the accident victims to be their mouthpiece”
Meanwhile, Amoako fumed at a gesture of his former club saying “I was asked to return everything of Kotoko to the secretariat in the letter that they wrote to me for not extending my contract but they failed to include what they owe me”
