Ghanaian highlife legend, Jewel Ackah, will be laid to rest on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Axim in the Western Region.
The veteran musician who died on April 27, 2018, was reported to have suffered a stroke.
His mortal remains will be laid in state at the Tema Community 11 Complex Park on Saturday, August 4. The body will then be conveyed to his hometown, Axim for burial.
Known for hit songs like ‘Joyce San Bra’, ‘Kyere Mase’, ‘Manye Yie,’ ‘Bodambo Bodambo’ and ‘Asomdwe Hene’.
Jewel Ackah who is also known as the ‘Prince of Highlife’ is responsible for composing the party anthem of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He was survived by Eleven children.
He was 73.
