The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has officially declared his intention to seek re-election at the party’s National Delegates Congress on December 7, 2018.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia, who is the current NDC General Secretary, announced his intention at a press conference to outline the party’s programme for the election of a flagbearer for Election 2020.
Speaking to journalists, Mr. Asiedu Nketia affirmed that he will seek re-election, thus putting to rest, speculations that he wanted to contest for the chairmanship slot.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia explained that the NDC timetable was in fulfillment of the party’s Constitution, stressing that, the party leadership has taken the decision to allow persons interested to declare their intention and officially inform the party.
Meanwhile, his Deputy, Koku Anyidoho, has also officially confirmed that he is lacing his boots to contest the General Secretary position of the party.
Anyidoho announced his decision whiles speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, “God willing I will contest for the General Secretary position,” he stated.
The question is, will the bull crash the long-standing mosquito with just a simple slap or the insignificant mosquito use all the experience gathered over the years to bring down the bull.
The decision lies in the hands of the Delegates.
