Ghana’s comedian Heiress Jacinta has stated that people who want to be like her have a problem.
According to her opting for a career which is male-dominated and regarded as one for the disappointed lot, you have to be yourself and have content to share.
“Sometimes I have people in my DM saying that “I would like to do comedy, I really like you, and I want to be like you.”
Once you say you want to be like me I conclude that you have a problem because being a comedian means you have what it takes, “if I had wanted to be like somebody I would not be having this interview.” She said.
Jacinta who currently holds the bragging rights as the only female comedian in Ghana believes that one needs to be original and confident if he/she want to be in the comedy industry.
“If you say you want to be a comedian then you must have the wow factor, you have to be confident, have content and be original and natural.” she said on eTV Ghana’s entertainment show “The Late Nite Celebrity Show”.
The 24-year-old Jacinta has quite a rich CV as she has performed in top Comedy Shows in Ghana and Nigeria. These include Comedy Night with Buchi (Lagos), Shakara and the Gang (Lagos), Comedy Express, Girltalk, Laughline, Live Comedy Thursdays, MMC Live among a host of others.
Jacinta has been doing comedy commercially for past five years including her time at the University.
